About Ava
I've been involved in the hunter/jumper industry for over 14 years, spending my time riding, showing, and developing horses. My background is primarily in the hunter ring, but I've also gained extensive experience in the jumper ring, giving me a well-rounded understanding of both disciplines.
Over the years, I've competed from local and regional shows all the way to the A-circuit, earning top placings and building valuable experience both in and out of the show ring. Every horse I've ridden has taught me something different, and those experiences have shaped the horsewoman I am today.
One of my biggest passions is bringing along young horses. I currently have two young prospects that I've developed from home, focusing on building a strong foundation, producing confident, willing partners, and preparing them for successful careers in the hunter/jumper world. Working with young horses has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and tailoring each program to the individual horse.
I take pride in putting the horse first and creating thoughtful programs that allow each horse to develop at its own pace. Whether I'm riding at home, preparing for the show ring, or working through the day-to-day training process, my goal is always to build confident, happy horses with a solid foundation that will benefit them throughout their careers.
My passion has always been working with horses, and I love every part of the process—from developing young prospects to continuing the education of more experienced horses. I'm always looking to learn, grow, and provide each horse with the best opportunity to succeed while enjoying the journey along the way.
About OCF
We offer a personalized training program designed to help shape and develop horses of all ages, from young prospects just beginning their careers to more experienced horses looking to continue their education. Every horse is an individual, and I believe in taking the time to understand their unique personality, strengths, and needs to create a program that allows them to progress with confidence.
Based on our private 60-acre property, horses have the opportunity to enjoy full-time turnout in a relaxed, natural environment. I strongly believe that horses thrive when they have the freedom to move, graze, and simply be horses. Providing consistent turnout not only supports their physical health but also promotes a happier mindset, resulting in horses that are more willing, confident, and successful in their work.
My program emphasizes correct flatwork, thoughtful jumping exercises, strong fundamentals, thoughtful progression, and quality horsemanship. Whether developing a young horse from the ground up or helping a seasoned horse reach its full potential, my goal is to create confident, well-rounded partners that are happy in both their work and everyday life.
By combining individualized training with a peaceful farm environment and horse-first philosophy, I strive to give every horse the foundation they need to succeed for years to come.
